Cold Laser Therapy at Total Health Chiropractic
Coralville Cold Laser Therapy: Non-invasive, safe and effective for painful conditions, cold laser therapy reduces inflammation and stimulates healing with low intensity laser. The low levels of light are referred to as ‘cold’ since it doesn’t heat the body’s tissues as those used to destroy tumors.
Our medical professionals apply a handheld device directly to the targeted area. The body tissue absorbs the light and the red and near-infrared light causes the damaged cells to respond with a physiological reaction that promotes regeneration.
Superficial tissue is commonly treated with wavelengths between 600 and 700 nanometers (nm). For deeper penetration, wavelengths between 780 and 950 nm are used.
During cold laser therapy, you’ll feel the laser device touching your skin yet the procedure is painless with no vibration and no heat. Each treatment typically takes only a few minutes and a series of sessions are recommended depending on the condition.
Dr. Dillon Hammes, DC takes a “Whole Person Approach” to his patients by managing not only the symptoms, but addressing the underlying causes to their injuries and disease.
